13 Year Old Sherry Butt Tasting Notes
Nose: There's no questioning the sherry influence but it's not overwhelming, or too dark or dry. Sherry's trademark red fruits and winter spices are certainly present, but are nicely balanced by notes of toffee, coffee, and root beer.
Palate: Rich and fruity. Raspberries and strawberries lead the way before descending into richer goopy notes - maple syrup and caramel. Riding on the syrupy texture, citrus notes of orange and grapefruit but also dark chocolate provide further depth. After a little more time a hint of leather also emerges to complete this classy and poised palate.
About this Rhythm and Booze Records release
Rhythm and Booze Records is the world's first combination record label and independent bottler, blending together amazing music with specially curated spirits to create unique tasting and listening experiences.
For the label's first release, they're keeping things in the family and highlighting their own musical venture (and the inspiration behind these bottlings), The Rhythm and Booze Project.
They've selected a 13 year old blended malt matured in a sherry butt to pair with their gritty blues music. The whisky is a perfect match - it's rich, fruity and gives a little hint of leather.
