The palate is powerful and complex. A wine of great finesse and an impressive length in the mouth.

Producer InformationDomaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Jacques Priuer domaine. Beginning in the late 1800s and continuing into the 20th Century, the family began investing in viticulture and purchasing vineyards, establishing vines in what have become some of the most sought after appellations in the Côte d'Or. The great nephew of Marie Taboureau, Jacques Prieur, inherited the estate holdings, running the domaine with his mother. He was one of the founding members of the revival of the regional winemaking brotherhood, the Conférie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, in 1934 and, in 1956, finally lent his name to the domaine. In the 1980s several local families bought into the estate, as it was experiencing a period of decline, and the Labruyère family became the majority shareholders. The Labruyère family owns around 70 percent of the estate, with the remainder taken by the Prieurs themselves. Domaine Jacques Prieur now has 21 hectares (52 acres) of vineyards including in nine grand crus, and 14 premier crus – among them are three walled monopoles. The best-known parcels of Jacques Prieur are also some of the most famous in Burgundy: Chambertin, Musigny, Clos Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne and Montrachet.
